Wedding Venue Facilities
One room hire fee covers the room in which you hold your Civil Ceremony, Meal and evening function.
The Oak Room: £600 in 2011 / £650 in 2012
Capacity 100 guests for a Civil function and meal, up to 200 for an evening function. Traditionally oak panelled, the Oak room is a former ballroom. It has picturesque bay windows, open fireplaces, a dance floor and space for a band or disco. The Oak Room has space for 10 tables to seat 10 guests maximum.
The Shire Room: £425 in 2011 and 2012
Capacity 30 guests for a Civil function and a meal. We use 3 tables of 10 guests to seat 30, or one long table to seat 20 guests maximum. The Shire Room is an intimate function room, oak panelled with a stone mantelpiece and French doors opening onto the rear lawn.
Marquee venue hire: £600 in 2011 / £650 in 2012
(Excludes hire of the marquee structure, which is arranged separately by the bridal party)
You may arrange your own Marquee to be erected on the rear lawns, and the hotel may require making a charge for the inclusion of a temporary bar. The marquee operators usually set-up a covered walkway from the rear door of the hotel to the entrance to the marquee, to give the hotel staff and guests easy access into the building.
Currently wedding ceremonies are not licensed to be performed in Marquees.
The Library Bar
This room is at the rear of the hotel overlooking the croquet lawns. It can be accessed from the rear of the Oak Room and through the Olive Lounge. It has carved wooden bookcases and a lovely bay window. You may use this room for a Casino Table or Chocolate Fountain, by prior arrangement with the Wedding Coordinators.
The Olive Lounge
This room links the Reception Hall to the Library Bar. It houses the hotel's baby Grand Piano, and has comfortable seating for your guests to relax during the evening reception away from the volume of the disco or band!
