Prescott Hill Climb: The Cotswolds at Full Throttle
The course threads through 69 acres of countryside near Gotherington, climbing more than 200 feet in a little over 1,100 yards. On an event day the attraction is as much the paddock as the stopwatch: old Bugattis, competition machinery and owners talking cars between runs.
Prescott is event-led rather than an attraction to wander into on any afternoon, so check the calendar before setting off. Arrive early on the bigger weekends; the closest parking fills first.
Even if you are not a committed petrolhead, it is a gloriously eccentric slice of Cotswold life — engineering, history and a great deal of noise in an improbably pretty setting.
