Walking Bredon Hill: Big Views and a Pint at the Finish
The circular from Elmley Castle rises steeply out of the village towards Bredon Hill. At 299 metres the summit is hardly Alpine, but its position above the Vale gives it views wildly out of proportion to the number on the map.
The landscape is the attraction: fields, hedges, changing weather and long horizons rather than a procession of visitor sights.
Start and finish at the community-run Queen Elizabeth Inn. That makes the logistics pleasingly simple and provides a convincing reason not to rush the descent.
